Tune in to Organically Speaking with Organic Alberta

We were delighted to join our partners at Organic Alberta for a conversation on their Organically Speaking podcast about our recently released Organic Task Force report.

Organic Task Force Co-Chair Lisa Kitt, from The Homestead Farm in Goodfare, Alberta, joined host Piper Allen to discuss the report’s findings and the benefits that greater public investment in organic agriculture would bring to farmers and the economy. The report is the result of collaboration between farmers, researchers, policy experts, and numerous community partners. When asked why she wanted to join the Organic Task Force, Lisa replied:

“When it comes to policy and research, the most important thing is to bring together as many different perspectives as possible to get a comprehensive view of the issue at hand. If farmers aren’t at the table, valuable opinions won’t be heard. So I’m thrilled to be part of this process. Agriculture today faces enormous barriers, including the financial burden of accessing the land and capital needed to get started in farming, not to mention the additional steps required to regenerate soils and implement additional practices that can help our environment. If this report can encourage new and existing farmers to implement organic and regenerative practices on their farms, it will be a victory.”
