As a national organization, COG’s work spans across many Indigenous lands including unceded territories and recognized treaty lands. COG recognizes that these lands continue to be home to diverse Indigenous peoples whom we recognize as true land stewards and essential contributors to agricultural systems and society at large.
The COG office is located on land that is part of the unceded and unsurrendered Traditional Territory of the Algonquin people. We acknowledge and honour the Algonquin people and elders, whose ancestors have occupied this territory since time immemorial, and whose culture has nurtured and continues to nurture this land and its people.
As a founding member of Farmers for Climate Solutions, COG commends the work undertaken to produce the Farmers for Climate Solutions’ Equity Framework and we endorse the framework’s principles in our work. Download the framework for more information. COG encourages all of our members and partners to learn the histories of the lands we are in relationship with by visiting: whose.land and native-land.ca.
