COG’s ROO is a first of is a first-of-its-kind in Canada to bolster regenerative organic certified oat production and improve farm resilience to climate change. ROO currently supports prairie organic oat growers in adapting best management practices to meet regenerative organic certification requirements.
A national cover crop training program developed by COG and delivered in partnership with Farmers for Climate Solutions and their FaRM program. COG’s curriculum can be regionally tailored to train farmers across Canada. Interested in supporting the expansion of cover crop training to farmers across the country?
COG’s 2.5 year research project that examined systemic organic supply chain barriers in six Canadian organic commodities (beef, carrots, blueberries, salad greens, oats and field peas). Our research ranked each barrier by these six organic commodity or product supply chains. CAP has examined the market impact of each and identifies leaders best qualified to implement measures to mitigate or eliminate each barrier.
Building from our success through our Growing Eastern Ontario Organically (GEOO) program, COG plans to continue providing farmers with the skills and knowledge to become more resilient to our changing climates and enhance local biodiversity. Interested in supporting climate resilience in your region?
Our school based, curriculum connected, hands-on program that teaches youth and children about organic gardening, healthy nutrition, and environmental issues. Currently GUO partners with individual schools to establish vegetable gardens on school grounds as the basis for experiential education at all grade levels. We develop and deliver garden-based workshops that are linked to the Ontario curriculum but are keen to expand the program into other cities and provinces. Support the next generation of growers.
