Canadian Organic Growers is proud to offer a new course: Cover Crop Certification for Professionals!
Cover Crop Certification for Professionals is an advanced, applied training program designed to strengthen the knowledge and capacity of agronomists, agrologists, Certified Crop Advisors (CCAs), and other agricultural professionals who support farmers in the adoption and management of cover crops.
Cover crops play a critical role in sustainable agriculture; improving soil health, enhancing biodiversity, supporting water quality, and increasing climate resilience.
Yet, despite their proven benefits, consistent and confident use of cover crops across Canada remains limited. This course addresses that gap by equipping professionals with the technical understanding and applied skills to design, implement, and evaluate successful cover crop systems across diverse Canadian regions and production contexts.
The course is being offered from January 12th to April 13th, 2026. Participants are asked to please click the button below to register by December 15th, 2025. Tuition is $500.00/CAD per student and spaces are limited.
This course was designed for professional agronomists who want to deepen their knowledge and practical skills in cover cropping. While it is built with agronomists in mind, participation is not limited to them. Individuals working in agricultural extension, advisory, or technical support roles may also find the content highly valuable for their work with farmers.

Our Organic Vegetable Seed Production Course is back with a Winter 2026 offering!
Organic Vegetable Seed Production (OVSP) is a comprehensive seed production and business training course for Canadian farmers. Access to organic, biodiverse, and locally adapted seeds is key to the success of the organic farming sector in Canada, yet organic seed availability remains limited—we want this course to help fix this gap.
Seed is the foundation of our food system. Becoming an organic seed producer offers growers a profound opportunity to make purposeful decisions about the food and farming systems they engage with and endorse.
Through this course we aim to cultivate the next generations of Canadian seed producers who, like us, envision a future where organic seed security and integrity is increased, organic farmers have access to resilient and adaptive seed, and alternative seed systems are flourishing.
OVSP is a self-directed, online, 9 week course focused on delivering the science and business of organic vegetable seed production. The course is national in scope but provides opportunities for learning and mentorship specific to your region. Students will be offered a self-directed learning experience, four live learning sessions and opportunities for mentorship with established Canadian seed growers and networking opportunities with their student peers.
The course is being offered from January 6th to March 8th, 2026. Final course assignment is due on March 15th, 2026. Registration deadline: December 15th, 2025. Tuition is $500.00/CAD per student and spaces are limited.
If you have any questions about the course please email ovsp@cog.ca for more information.
