Soil microbiota and their role in sustainable agriculture: A review

“This review explores the pivotal role of soil microbiota in promoting sustainable agriculture by enhancing plant growth, soil health, and resilience to environmental stress. It discusses key soil microbiota and their symbiotic interactions with plants, highlighting their contributions to nutrient cycling, disease suppression, and soil structure. This review also discusses the recent reports on the role of yeasts, actinobacteria, and cyanobacteria, in promoting sustainable agriculture. These studies highlight the potential of yeasts in enhancing plant immunity, actinobacteria in improving soil fertility, and cyanobacteria and their role in improving plant growth through functions other than N-fixation.”
