Are you dreaming of growing food on the prairies? Have you been dropping hints to your friends to join you? Looking for land, but don’t know how to make it a reality?
The third of three stories on how to find farmland on the prairies features Ross MacDonald of 98 Ranch – Ross is a first-generation rancher and professional agrologist in southern Saskatchewan. 98 Ranch Inc. is a 5,000 acre ranch that produces grass-fed beef and strives for grassland and related wildlife habitat conservation. Ross was able to access his land through conservation initiatives. He is actively engaged with the Treaty Land Sharing Network.
Hear about Ross’s learnings, choice points, and best tips – followed by a question and answer period. You will walk away from the workshop with the following:
- How 98 Ranch started out and accessed their first land
- The options available for land access through conservation organizations like Ducks Unlimited
- What Ross has learned along the way and beneficial support he has received
- How he builds community and brings people along for the ride
